Accuracy! I have been doing some research on value pricing. The strongest proponents of this method suggest that tracking time is immoral. Their reasoning? It “forces people to be dishonest.” I love the idea of value pricing, but this I cannot yet get my head wrapped around. It’s sort of like saying that guns kill people instead or people killing people. It is my choice, as a living, going human concern whether or not I am going to be accurate about keeping track of my time.
When I worked at my first temp jobs, I remember having to fill out those carbon copy time sheets. Like most everyone else I would scramble to fill it out on the day that it was due, and you bet it was inaccurate. To the best of my ability I would try and recall my hours.
There was a simple solution though. Don’t wait until the last day! I decided that I was going to be more honest about it, not because I was so noble. It was for more selfish reasons. I started tracking my time daily because I hated the stress of trying to get it together at the last minute, and it felt real good knowing that what I was submitting was as accurate as I could possibly make it.
In those days I created my first version of a time sheet in Microsoft Excel so that I could log my time in less than 60 seconds each day. It was very accurate, and extremely honest. In the end, regardless of the motivation, the choice was mine to keep my time honestly. I can’t blame the “time keeping movement” for people’s immorality. So I am not buying into that one.
Enter Tsheets. Now I really have no excuses. I can clock in and out from anywhere and I have GPS tracking to keep me honest (just in case I am not inclined that way).

Ease of use! As I mentioned above, with TSheets time tracking I can easily clock in and out from anywhere using the mobile app. Of course I can clock in and out from my desktop too! It takes 10 seconds to select my job, whether the time is billable, and the service item. Then if I need to jump over to another project real quick, I just tap “Switch” on the app, and in another 10 seconds I am off and running again.
Tsheets is easy to use and that is my number 4 reason for why I love TSheets.

Great Mobile App! I have already made reference to the mobile app. This keeps my team and their time honest and accurate. Watch the video (the one I made, not the song) to see what I mean. The point is obvious on this one. It’s easy to use, and I can clock in and out from anywhere. If I forget to clock out I get warning notifications, and as a company admin, I can set up workflows that allow for who can make corrections.
TSheets has an amazing mobile app, which based on the nature of what they do is critically important. And that is the # 2 reason for why I love TSheets.
